Mibanco (prev. Bancompartir) is a Colombian microfinance bank specialized in loans to individuals and small and medium-sized companies belonging to the low-middle segment in Colombia.

Investment rationale

Mibanco will continue to grow organically by expanding its branch network, creating new products for its target market, and focusing on microenterprises.

In Colombia, the microfinance market has significant potential, with 55% of the population unbanked. Microfinance services are mainly provided by regulated banks, cooperatives, and non-governmental-organizations (NGOs), with microfinance banking institutions offering 60% of microcredits and NGOs offering 33% as of 2017.
