Maj Invest and COVID-19

13 Mar. 2020

The unfolding crisis caused by COVID-19 has caused the Danish authorities to take drastic measures. All private employers such as Maj Invest are urged to ensure that as many people as possible work from home. In order to comply with this and reduce the risk for the employees of Maj Invest we have reorganized the way we work. We will however do our utmost to continue the service to you as if it was business as usual and we believe this is possible.

Maj Invest has Business Continuity Plans (BCP) designed to cope with business interruption of various kinds, also potential disruption resulting from COVID-19. Our BCP entails remote continuity strategy, which has proven efficient and suitable for the present situation. Management has ensured additional briefing and instructions reflecting the current situation and the recommendations from the Danish government to ensure ongoing and uninterrupted business.

A remote work continuity strategy is part of our BCP. All employees vital for the continuation of business operation – both within the investment teams as well as support functions – are equipped with a remote connection and access to trading platform, portfolio management systems as well as business information and sufficient equipment to work efficiently from home (or another remote location). Therefore, employees vital for the continuation of business operation – both within the investment teams as well as support functions - can in accordance with the BCP work from home at an acceptable capacity for an extended period of time. During COVID-19, the remote connection for many employees at the same time has been tested in practice without fall-outs

As a part of our Business Continuity Plan (BCP), we have in place a business continuity organization, information and escalation procedures in place. So far, the procedures have proven sufficient and adequate to handle COVID-19.

All non-critical business travel for Maj Invest employees has been banned. Travelling deemed critical to business operation has to be approved by the executive management. Management has ensured additional briefing and instructions reflecting the current situation and the recommendations from the Danish government. Conference calls and video meetings are encouraged to ensure ongoing and uninterrupted business.

Management has stressed the importance of ongoing business and in order to make this possible restrictions encouraged by the Danish authorities are followed. The number of employees at the physical office location is limited to reduce risks and most employees are working from home via remote connections. A vast supply of disinfectants has been supplied to the office and employees are encouraged to frequently wash hands and use disinfectants. Employees are also encouraged to avoid physical contact.

We do apologize that some meetings may need to be accomplished via conference call or videoconference rather than in person, and we appreciate your understanding as we seek to avoid putting our employees or you at risk.

We value our relationship with you and we seek to minimize the impact on our cooperation. We believe these measures will help reduce the health risks to all of us and we appreciate your understanding.
